Wayne Lee Frerichs, the son of John and Pearl (Berends) Frerichs, was born January 12, 1945 in LeMars, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in the Greenville/Rossie area, where he received his early education, graduating from Greenville/Rossie Consolidated High School in 1963. After his graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict from 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1966.
Wayne married Carol Barry on May 25, 1967 in Sioux Falls, SD. After their marriage, they lived in several communities in the Midwest, where he worked at several jobs including: real estate sales, factory work, farming, purebred hog breeding, antique tractor restoration, but his most recent occupation was trucking until his retirement in 2007. After retirement, he dedicated a lot of his time to antique tractor restoration.
He passed away at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the age of 72. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; one sister in infancy; a sister-in-law, Judy Frerichs and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Keith Emmert.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Carol of Peterson, IA; his sons: Lonnie of Royal and Loren (Diana) Frerichs of Omaha, NE; two granddaughters: Emily & Alex Frerichs; 2 brothers: Dave (Teresa) Frerichs of Spencer and Darrell Frerichs of Ruthven, IA; one sister, Lois (Ray) Stanley of Emmetsburg, IA; numerous nieces and nephews including: Kathy Schmidt & Karen Byers; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer.
