Wayne Reese

Wayne Robert Reese, the son of Jack and Mabel (Hansen) Reese, was born April 22, 1921 in Plankinton, SD. His family moved to the Alta Iowa area, when Wayne was a young child. In 1938, they moved to Peterson, Iowa, where he graduated from Peterson High School. Wayne married Fern Bruns on January 10, 1945 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage they lived in Peterson, where Wayne farmed for the rest of his life. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Peterson. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his family. He passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the age of 90. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Dean and Ward and a grandson, Chris Kummerfeld. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Fern of Peterson; two daughters: Gail and her husband, Dick Kummerfeld of Rockwell City, IA and Connie Harmon of Fonda, IA; his grandchildren: Kim (Chad) Lundquist and their children, Zach & Rachel, Rebecca Kummerfeld and daughter, Emilie, Lisa (Mark) Peterson and their children, Joey & Charlotte, Teresa Gardner and her children, Sabrina, Jaden, Sam & Luke, Nick Ohrtman and daughter, Destiny; brother, Keith (Wanda) Reese of La Quinta, CA; sister, Shirley Holt of Seattle, WA; other relatives and friends.
