William 'Bill' Scott

William 'Bill' Eldridge Scott, the son of Eldridge and Mabel Miller Scott was born June 21, 1925 in Greenville, IA. His childhood years were spent in the Rossie, IA area where he graduated from Rossie High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1946. Bill married Dorothy Jeane Davis on August 1, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Spencer. He operated a gas station before taking over the family farm. He enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. Bill and Dorothy wintered in Texas for more than 30 years. He volunteered at Cutty's Resort for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Spencer. Bill passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Donald Eugene; and 2 grandchildren, Kimberly Rolle and Kevin Scott. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Jeane of Spencer, IA; 3 children, David (Wendy) Scott of Arlington, WA; Gary (Denise) Scott of Sioux City, IA; and Diane (Dean) Parks of Spencer, IA; 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; one sister Dorothy Beck of Spencer, IA; other relatives and many friends. In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Shayla Bee Fund.
