William Clarence Pierson, the son of Clarence William and Maxine (Lindahl) Pierson was born on September 13, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN. His childhood years were spent there, where he received his early education graduating from high school. He then attended the University of Minnesota for a short time. He entered into the military on October 9, 1951 serving in the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on July 8, 1953.
William married Rita Hoffrichter on November 6, 1954 in Spencer, IA. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Minneapolis. William was a self-employed truck driver. He mostly hauled paint and wallpaper supplies to area stores. In 1985, he retired but he stayed busy working for a temp agency. In 1993, he started working for Superior Seniors doing various jobs in the community.
He passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rita of Spencer; one son, Billy of Minneapolis; 3 daughters: Mary and Nancy Pierson of Minneapolis and Sue Kolesar and her husband, Duane of Florida; 6 grandchildren: Danielle, Randelle, Christopher, Derek, Andrew and Charmaine; one great grandchild, Kylee (Randelle's daughter); one sister, Janet Lentz and her husband, Bill of Burnsville, MN; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Memorial Services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer.
Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion - Glen Pedersen Post #1 of Spencer.
Following the service, there will be a lunch served in the fellowship hall.
