William Stanley Loger, the son of Stanley and Dorothy Heinsohn Loger, was born October 4, 1949 in Storm Lake, Iowa. His family lived in Storm Lake, where he received his early education, until moving to Spencer in 1964. Bill attended a mechanic school in Des Moines and then returned to Spencer where he worked for the railroad, PCP and Handy Dandy Cleaning Service.
Bill married Carolyn Holland on March 3, 1993 in Sioux Falls, SD. Following their marriage, they continued to reside in Spencer. Bill then worked at Walmart as a people greeter. Bill was a member of the Moose Lodge, Promise Keepers and active with Hope Haven. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed traveling and watching old westerns.
Bill passed away on October 1, 2010 at the age of 60 at his home in Spencer. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Pam.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son, Jeremy Loger of Phoenix, AZ; three step daughters: Linnea Michalec (Rod) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Cindy Honebein (Doug) of Denver, CO and Patti King of Adrian, MN; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Loger of Primghar, IA; step-father, Robert Ripley of Hartley, IA; brother-in-law, Craig Loats of WI; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Living Word Church in Spencer.
