Wilma Flourine Erb

Wilma Florine Erb, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Schwartze) Garnes was born August 29, 1925, in Bayard, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Bayard where she received her education. On May 28, 1942, Wilma was united in marriage to DuWayne Erb in St. Joseph, MO. Following their marriage they lived in the Des Moines area until moving to Spencer, IA in 1962. Wilma was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her time raising her family. She was an active member of Day Spring Assembly of God Church. She loved to share the Word of God with everyone she met. Wilma volunteered in the nursing home ministry and taught Sunday school for over 20 years. Wilma enjoyed listening to music, cooking, and baking. She was best known for her cinnamon rolls and pies. Most of all Wilma cherished the time spent with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On July 27, 2007, Wilma passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Kathy; one brother, Loren Garnes; and two sisters: Lavonne Mozena and Verna Clark. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, DuWayne Erb of Spencer, IA; one son, Barry and Barb Erb of Minneapolis, MN; five daughters: Sharon and Dave Daggett of Minburn, IA, Connie and John Biersma of Earlham, IA, Peggy and Chuck Andreasen of Rembrandt, IA, Vicky and Randy Plagman of Spencer, IA, Jennifer and John Newgard of Laurens, IA; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lester and Kathryn Garnes of Coon Rapids, IA; one sister, Lula Garnes of Bayard, IA; as well as other relatives and many friends.
