Wilma May Rausch, the daughter of Wilhelm and Ethlyn Henrietta Andre Lorenzen, was born November 16, 1930 in Moneta, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Hartley, IA, where she received her education.
Wilma married Robert Rausch on March 1, 1948 in Jackson, MN. Following their marriage, they moved to Spencer, IA. She began a partnership with Adeline Westphalen in North Iowa Sewing and Music Center in Spencer. The two ran the business together until she purchased her partner's interest and continued operating the business until her retirement. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Wilma was also an active member of the Moose Lodge in Spencer and served in several chairs in that organization. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing, traveling and spending time with her family.
Wilma passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Bob of Hartley; two sons: Robert Jr. and his wife, Kathy Rausch of Rogers, NE, and William and his wife, Diane Rausch of Hartley, IA; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2006, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer, Iowa.
