Wilmer H. Lundt

Wilmer H. Lundt, the son of Waldo and Olga Walstrom Lundt, was born September 15, 1918 in Linn Grove, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Linn Grove, Iowa, where he received his education, graduating from Linn Grove High School. Following high school, he attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake for 1 year and later Iowa State University in Ames for 2 years. Wilmer married Joyce Johnson on July 30, 1952 in Jackson, MN. Following their marriage, they lived in Greenville, Iowa, where he worked at the grain elevator, drove truck and later moved to the farm in 1964. He continued working at the elevator and farming, until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Cherokee. Wilmer also loved traveling, for 61 consecutive years he attended the Indy 500, and spending time with his family. He passed away at the Sanford Senior Care Center in Sheldon, Iowa on Friday, February 8, 2008 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Jane Lundt. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Joyce of Sheldon, IA; children: W. Max Lundt and his wife, Lynn of Spirit Lake, IA, Judy Hoogeveen and her husband, Dean of Hull, IA, W. John Lundt Milford, IA, Joan Holles and her husband, Steve of Sheldon, IA and Jay L. Lundt and his wife, Heidi of Omaha, NE; 9 grandchildren: Luke & Breanne Lundt, Nicole Lundt, Angie, Ryan & Jill Hoogeveen, Andrew & Anastasia Lundt, Nathan & Janessa Holles and Kinser Lundt; 2 great grandchildren: Caden and Reese Lundt; a brother, Ralph Lundt of Sioux Rapids, IA; a sister, Velma Schomburg of Spirit Lake, IA; special niece, Ann Aldrich; other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Warner Chapel in Spencer,Iowa.
