Craig Martin Kolb, the son of Thomas and Joyce (Wiard) Kolb was born December 12, 1950, in Berkley, California.  He was the second of eight boys.  They lived in several states and found a family home in Woodland Hills, California, where Craig graduated from Taft High School in 1969.  Craig met his best friend, Christine Riedemann in 1971, and was married on June 16, 1973.  They lived in Northridge, California.  While traveling to begin a new job offer, they stopped at Chris’s hometown of Hartley, Iowa, where they decided to stay and began a family of four children:  Kashia (Kolb) Nolin of Spencer, IA, Kyle (Mollie) Kolb in Rochester, MN, Stacy Kolb of Hartley, IA, and Ian Kolb of Gillet Grove, IA.

Craig’s employment through the years included building houses and doing construction.  He studied Electric Instrumentation and began to work as maintenance for manufacturing businesses.  His career took him to work as a welder at various businesses for many years.

In 2015, Craig began to have lung issues and retired.  After surviving many lung diseases, Craig passed away on April 7, 2021, at his home surrounded by family.  Craig was 70 years, 3 months and 23 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law; sister-in-law Stephanie Dittberner and brother-in-law, Bill Rogister.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Chris of Spencer, IA; their four children; 11 grandchildren, seven brothers:  Ken (Bonnie) Kolb of Moab, UT, Steve (Maureen) Kolb of Rathdrum, ID, Scott (Laurie) Kolb of Calabasas, CA, Mike Kolb of Granite Falls, WA, Marty (Cindy) Kolb of Beaverton, OR, Ron (Gina) Kolb of Lake Havasu, AZ, and Randy (Sharon) Kolb of Wirtz, VA.
