“We were so sorry to learn of the passing of our Aunt Shirley. She was such a wonderful, cheerful spirit, really a delight to be around. She has a terrific laugh & gave great hugs, too! We are sending our love & thoughts to the family as they celebrate the life of a truly lovely & beloved woman. The world is a little less bright without her. ”

“I am feeling bad that these words of sympathy are belated and certainly hope they are still seen by some of Shirley's family. I got the sad news belatedly and then was traveling. It has been ages since I have seen any of you, but I did get to see your dear, sweet mother from time to time over the years. My mother treasured Shirley's friendship. I am so glad they had many good coffee times together. Take care, all of you. Nancy Carlson Johannes”

“Tony, Craig, Mark, sisters, and extended family: I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I remember the last time I saw your mom...it was when I came back home for Dad's memorial in 2006. She and Darlene Enderton were walking down the street and I must have talked to them for at least an hour. Your mom always had a way of making everyone feel welcome; she was positive and spunky and just had a way about her that made one smile. She made me feel so special that day, providing me one last positive memory of Webb. Losing a mom is not easy -- be kind to one another and yourselves during this difficult time, and know that your mom was proud of each and every one of you. Once again, my sincere condolences. ”

“to family of Shirley Hamrick, May God comfort you with happy memories as you prepare to honor your dear matriarch and bid loving farewell to her life on earth. What a blessing to know Shirley! I will always smile the memory of her smile and infectious laughter. She was small but strong and able to maneuver big school bus as well as anyone. With her patience kind heart and spunk she had the key to making rowdy kids settle down and behave-not because they were scared of her but because like everyone they adored her. I love whenever I got to visit with Shirley and catch up on news of her family. She was and is so proud of you. I know you will forever hold her in your hearts. God’s peace my friends, LaVonne”

“Shirley was a loving mom to her kids and fostor kids and the friendly companion of all the kids who frequented her home and rode her school bus over the years.
