“To Tim and the entire Bates and Johnson families, I send my heartfelt prayers and condolences. Your mother was a very special woman. She was kind to most, thoughtful to others. She was smart, witty and could be rather charming when she put her mind to it. She did enjoy playing bingo but her passion was crocheting. And she crochet anything. This and her love for elephants was on display everywhere. I stopped in many times when I came to Spencer. She truly enjoyed having a conversation with you and really just wanted to be heard. She had a heart of gold as well as being as ornery as she wanted to be. I loved her and she will be missed. I'm happy knowing she is in a better place crocheting Our Lord a new robe. Rest in peace Aunt Phyllis. ”

“Our family would like to wish what a special caring lady she was in our lives. She was always crafting and these items came straight from her heart.
Phyllis made the special mints for our son ,Tyson and they just had that special touch, and she did them with her whole heart!
And she made special gifts for our son coming home from Afghanistan and Iraq, which meant alot to us.
Phillis you were one very special lady with a heart of gold, we will always love . May you rest in peace now, we love you.”

“My sister Phyllis and I were raised together. She was my big sister, and, helped me with things, my mother should have, but, Phyllis stepped in. Phyllis and I have spent lots of time together the past 15 years, so, it was time for me to help her. Wow, what a great way to learn about my sis, during those 15 years. She is a very unique person, talented, funny, smart, generous, just a great gal! She loved Bingo, we called her the Bingo queen, and, her time at Longhouse was spent, putting puzzles together, her crafting, which, when you visited, she would always give you something when you left. I always said, she was "in charge" while at Longhouse. I am so pleased, she has no pain now, and, is resting in peace. I will miss you so much. Sis Marilyn ”

Aunt Phyllis, please know you are in a better place and no longer in pain. You were one tough old bird as you would say. You often said you were ornery enough and was going to be the last to go which always made me laugh. Well almost.
Many have enjoyed your crocheted items over the years. I'm glad Linda and I got to spend some time
with you recently. Jan took time whenever he was in town to drop by and see you and I know he enjoyed the visits as much as you did. You will be missed here on earth but you will reconnect with those in heaven. May peace be with you. ”
