“Sorry to hear of Phil's passing. When he lived on West 14th street, (many years ago) we lived and still live across the back yard. Phil was on Lynn's American Legion team to put flags up on the boulevard, and they worked together at the omelet breakfasts. Will miss him. Our sympathy to his family and prayers for you. ”

“Phil was a good man! He helped with so much. I had the pleasure of his help putting flags up and taking them down along Grand and the Court house recently, as well as his filling shifts for the American Legion booth at the Clay County Fair. I don't know him very personally, but I know that he will be missed around the American Legion Glen Pedersen Post 1 here in Spencer. My heartfelt condolences to his friends and family. ”
