“To the family of Miss Swanson: I just now saw Miss Swanson's obituary and wanted you to know how much she was loved by her pupils of years ago. Miss Swanson was my second grade teacher in Webb and she was, by far and away, the most popular teacher in grade school. I absolutely adored her, and most of my classmates did as well. This is probably not news to you, but I just felt that her family should hear from someone who was greatly influenced by her. Not only was she kind and caring, I feel that she instilled in many of us a love of learning and school. I so hope she had a full and rich life; I wish I had reached out to tell her how much she meant to me when she was alive.”

“What a dear and grand lady Janice was. I had the opportunity to serve as Chaplain at St Luke Homes and Services and get to know Janice at the Highlands. She attended Sunday services and attended Bible study and all who knew her were blessed by her Christian love and compassion plus her knowledge of the Bible. She openly displayed her faith and all who knew were blessed by her presence. My deepest sympathies to her family and to her church home.”

“To all of Jan's family: This lady is going to be so missed by all who knew and loved her. My older brother's 3rd grade class was her first year of teaching at Webb, I believe. I still remember basket weaving in her class. I adored her energy, enthusiasm and kindness as a teacher....and I may have been a lil afraid of her too! She was stern yet loving. I had the pleasure of bumping into her many times at St. Lukes whenever she came to join her friends in a game of cards there from her Highlands home. Always the same pleasant, smiling lady. She had the best laugh. Rest in peace, Ms. Swanson....know you left your mark on many. ”
