Charles Herman Leinen, the son of Frank and Ardyce Hitchcock Leinen, was born September 15, 1945 in Sibley, Iowa.  His childhood years were spent in Melvin, Iowa where he received his early education and graduated from the Melvin High School.  Chuck continued his education in college.

     On August 28, 1971, Chuck married Mavis Centner in Hartley, Iowa.  Following their marriage, they made their home in Spencer where he worked 36 years as a bridge foreman for Graves Construction Company. He retired in 2007.  Chuck loved his family, they were the world to him.  His passions were hunting and fishing, he loved the outdoors.

     Chuck passed away on August 27, 2022 at his home at the age of 76.  He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sherry Pierson.

     Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mavis of Spencer, IA; two sons: Jeremy Leinen and his wife, Paula of Whiting, IA; Nathan Leinen and his wife, Lesa of Ankeny, IA; 6 grandchildren: Kyle (Ashley) Trierweiler, Karisa (Jake) Leinen, William Leinen, Ava Leinen, Autumn Leinen and Ambrey Leinen; 5 great grandchildren: Zack, Elijah, Ben, Nixon, Aubrynn Trierwiler; brother-in-law, Bill (Mary) Pierson of St. Joseph, MO; other relatives and friends.
