Brad Hawn

Brad Hawn

Licensed Funeral Director

Brad has been a licensed funeral director since 1985 and a partner in Warner Funeral Home since 1994. He attended the University of Northern Iowa and received his B.A. degree from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa and a degree in mortuary science from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, IL, in 1984.


Brad served on the Iowa Board of Mortuary Science Examiners for three terms. He is a member of Foundation Church in Spencer. Brad is a past board member of the Spencer Family YMCA, where he served on the Century Club as well as the Endowment Committee. He served as a board member of the Clay County American Heart Association for several years as the Communications Chairman. Brad is also a past member of the Spencer Rotary Club, the Spencer Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the Spencer Jaycees.


Brad and his wife, Jennifer, enjoy spending time with their children: Abby and her husband, Nate, and their daughters Amelia, Nora, and Mattea; Bailey; Meredith; and Drew.

Jeff Swank

Jeff Swank

Licensed Funeral Director

Jeff has been a licensed funeral director since 1996 and has been working at Warner Funeral Home since 2000. He became a partner at Warner Funeral Home in 2006. Jeff received his A.A. degree from Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny in 1994 and a degree in mortuary science from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL, in 1995.


Jeff is a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Kiwanis. He and his wife, Carla, have two children, Michael and Marisa.

Casey Vaughan

Licensed Funeral Director

Casey received his funeral director license in 2008. He has attended the University of Sioux Falls and Iowa Lakes Community College. He graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL, where he received his degree in mortuary science.


Casey is a member of the Spencer Jaycees, Sacred Heart Church in Spencer, and the YMCA.


Casey and his wife, Emily, have one daughter, Finley.

Andrea Heard

Andrea Heard

Advance Funeral Planner

Andrea is from Estherville. She has a bachelor’s degree in human services and psychology. Andrea has several years of experience working with State Farm, where she helped with everything from life insurance sales to customer service. Prior to that, Andrea worked as a social worker supporting families in the area. She has a true passion for service; she loves getting to know people and identifying ways she can help support their needs.


Outside of work, Andrea spends her time with her boyfriend, Corey, and their children. Andrea is a proud mom of three sons (including twins!) and two step-sons. Her favorite pastime is watching them participate in their activities. The family loves swimming at the beach, hiking on trails, and just spending time together watching movies or playing video games. They have a rescue dog named Zeus, two cats named Stangelina and Moon, and four fish. Andrea and Corey also enjoy attending as many concerts as they can. 

Sheli Cheevers

Sheli Cheevers

Aftercare Coordinator, Office Manager

Sheli is from Ruthven and has an office assistant degree from Spencer School of Business. She spent 20 years as a receptionist in the medical field. Sheli also enjoyed her time volunteering at the local animal shelter.


Outside of work, Sheli helps with the children’s ministry at Foundation Church in Spencer. She and her husband, Kurt, enjoy spending time with their two children, Xander and Audra, as well as with their two dogs.

Joel Roos

Joel Roos

Retired Licensed Funeral Director

Joel has been a licensed funeral director since 1984 and a partner in Warner Funeral Home since 1992. He received his B.A. degree from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake in 1982 and a degree in mortuary science from Dallas School of Funeral Service in 1983.


Joel is a member of Hope Reformed Church in Spencer and of the Masonic Lodge. He is a past member of the Spencer Jaycees, the Iowa Great Lakes Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Spencer Tailtwister High School Booster Club, where he served on the board.


Joel and his wife, LuAnn, have three children: Nate; Maggie and her husband, Kaleb Smith; and Ben.
